Cosmetic and aesthetic treatments
Cosmetic – or aesthetic – dentistry is a field of dentistry in which the appearance of a tooth (or several teeth) is altered with the help of dental materials and techniques. With an aesthetic treatment we can improve the shape, position and colour of your teeth.
At AB Tandarts we can provide various cosmetic treatments:
- Veneers: porcelain veneers are thin, tooth-coloured covers that are fitted over discoloured or damaged teeth so the teeth are once again well shaped and white.
- Crown: a crown is a porcelain cap that completely encases the visible part of a tooth. Fitting a crown gives the tooth its original shape and function back.
- Bridge: a bridge is a combination of artificial teeth and crowns that bridges the gap between two teeth if one or two teeth have been lost. The bridge is fixed to the teeth on either side of the gap (the anchors). The central part of the bridge – the artificial teeth (or pontics) is sometimes called a dummy.
- Teeth whitening: several methods for whitening teeth are available. Which method we choose depends on your wishes and objectives and we will discuss this together. The whitening treatment can take place at our dental centre or you can bleach your teeth yourself at home using the materials and method provided by your dentist.

Dentists with a KRT registration are professionally competent and skilled and meet a number of registration standards. This means you can be sure that you are being treated by a qualified dentist who works in accordance with the relevant guidelines, keeps up-to-date with and trained in the latest dental techniques and speaks Dutch.
